I seem to be getting this error when importing any hand from pokerstars or fulltilt. Im importing to a postgreSQL database.

This is not a PostgreSQL error, it's coming from an Access database and usually this error is because

a) you are using Vista and are not running PT as administrator
b) you copied the db files from one PC to another using a CD/DVD and now the file is read-only in which case the properties of the file need to be set so it's not read-only.

I have to correct myself. I was attempting to import the hand histories into a new access database. My postgreSQL database is too big and imports take too long. How do I fix this error so I can start a new Access db?

Do any of the 2 issues I detailed above apply to you??

Go to the c:\program files\poker tracker v2 folder. Right-click on the hhdb.mdb file there and select Properties from the popup menu. Uncheck the "Read-only" box and then click OK to save the changes. Then open PT and try it again.

I also have this exact same problem, i am running pt in admin mode, i did set it to read only, still not working. THIS NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF ASAP.

Why did you set it to read-only? I said to uncheck that box. And if you are using Vista, you need to right-click on the PT desktop icon and select 'run as administrator' and Vista should prompt you every time to cancel/allow PT to run. If it doesn't prompt you every time then you aren't running it the right way.

And it wasnt working befor when i had it set to not read only, i rveresed it but it did not work either way.
