Folds on flop/turn/river question

Postby Alcibadies » Wed Jul 02, 2008 3:57 pm

I noticed that the pokertracker stats of folds to a flop/turn/river bet are not the same as the PAHUD stats of folds on flop/turn/river.
Why are these stats different? Shouldn't they be the same? thx

Do you mean PT2 (not PT3)?

Just a theory, but
Maybe one of them uses number of folds / number of times saw street, and the other uses number of folds / number of hands (or number of times saw flop, regardless of which street's fold stat you're looking at).

Ah, see this link.
http://www.pokertracker.com/products/PA ... page=stats
PAH separates folds to flop bet and folds to flop raise - maybe that's the difference?

I mean PT 3. Fold to a flop bet is a PT stat I think. In the PAHUD options all it lists is fold flop%. The fold flop% always seems lower than the fold to a flop bet. Maybe it's a glitch that just got fixed in the latest version.

From the link I gave:
"(Player) Fold To Flop Bet (PAH)
Percentage of time player folds when facing a flop bet."

As I said above, if PAH is reporting fold to a flop bet, this will be only those cases when you fold when facing a bet, not when facing a raise. I guess you would fold a higher % when facing a bet, than when you've bet and been raised.. They'll be different values anyway.

If you can find any hands in PT3 where the stat is incorrect then please send us the hand history on the Support system , and link to this thread.

I can't tell if you understand what I'm trying to say. No prob. I'm hard to understand. Is there a page where all the PAHUD stats are defined. I already have the link where the pokertracker stats are defined. Thx and I appreciate your help.

I *think* I understand what you're saying.

The link I gave above is about PAH stats. I know it doesn't give the maths behind them, but I think that's all that is available.
I'm afraid I don't know the exact maths behind all of them, but for instance "Percentage of time player folds when facing a flop bet." is pretty clear, I think. If you want to know any other specific ones, please ask, and if I can't answer it, someone will.

I understand folds to a flop bet%. This is very clear, but in the PAHUD stats menu there is a stat titled "fold flop". I assumed that this was the same thing as "folds to a flop bet %" in PT3, but apparemtly it is not. The "fold flop" stat is always smaller than the "folds to a flop bet%" stat. This has to be a mistake. I appreciate your help, but is there anyway that this question can be forwarded to the guy that wrote pokerace? ty

Sure, I'll see if Josh or Derek can answer officially, but I'd like to understand it too.
Are you comparing data from exactly the same set of hands imported into PT3 and PT2/PAH?

PT3 has 2 stats:
Fold Flop = (cnt_f_fold / cnt_f_saw) * 100
Fold to F Bet = (cnt_f_bet_def_action_fold / cnt_f_bet_def_opp) * 100

There are also 'fold to f raise' and 'fold to f 3bet' and 'fold to f 4bet'.

So in PT3, Fold Flop is how many times you fold on the flop, which is a different stat to PAH's 'fold flop' which (it seems) is actually definted as folding when facing a flop bet.

Does PT3's 'fold to f bet' match the PAH value?

Problem solved. Folds to a flop bet is now an option in PAHUD. I just saw it. I swear it wasn't there before the latest revision. Thx for your help.
