Howto check PFA?

Postby js2002 » Tue Sep 01, 2009 2:28 am

How do I check "Player is not PFA and its a raised Pot (single and more)" --->"face_raise" should do the second part of the question I guess, but which is the common way to check for preflop aggressor?

I cant use p_raise = 0 (and call =1) because I could raise and the call preflop.

To check for the player being the PFA you can use:
lookup_actions_p.action LIKE '%R'
(Their last preflop action was raise, as you suggested.)
Although now I write that I guess that would include hands where they raise all-in and someone else re-raises afterwards..

To check that the player is not the PFA in a raised pot you can check for:
holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_face_raise AND NOT (lookup_actions_p.action LIKE '%R')
(you'll need to check that they saw the flop too, of course).

A player's last action might be Raise, but if that puts them all in then another player could still raise behind them and become the PFA.
However, in that case the all-in player won't have any opportunities to act on the flop so I don't think it's a serious issue.
