Installing the PostgreSQL

Postby JMARTIN123 » Mon May 26, 2008 11:18 pm

I have had Poker Tracker 3 with the PostgreSQL on my computer as the trial beta version which eventually expired and then I attempted to upgrade to the new version that was released on My 15th. However, when I attempted to do that I'm getting "Service "PostgreSQL Database 8.3 failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I attempted to remove PT3 and that SQL. I unistalled and deleted all the program files. Attempted to re-install same error message or whenever I just attempt to connnect to the databse I get "Unable to connect to this database. Please check the configuration. I am running Windows XP. I do Technical Support for a living and I'm extremely flustered I cannot get this to work. I would really like to buy the complete version however I'm afraid im going to run into the same problem during installation. Any ideas on how to correct this without doing an entire system wipe on my computer? Thanks in advance for reading this long post.

Yes XP home edition, service pack 2, the PostgreSQL Database is still in my add/remove programs and I attempted to boot my computer in safe mode to remove it and it still doesn't remove. I think I may have deleted the unistall.exe file. At this point, I'm leaning towards just wiping the harddrive
