Do you have PostgreSQL installed?
Did you install it using the Full PT3 installer?

If you have it installed please read our Firewall Guide as that is the other common reason for postgres not working correctly.

I had the same problem, and it doesn't appear that postgreSQl is installed on my PC. Shouldn't it have been installed along with PT3? Is there another way to install it?

If postgres isn't installed at all, you can just run the PT3 "Full" installer and that will set it up for you.
Alternatively, read the guide: How to reinstall PostgreSQL.

I also have this same problem.

First i uninstalled version 8.3 and the psqlODBC.

Then i used the command prompt to delete the default user: "net user postgres /delete"

Then i installed the latest version of PostgreSQL (8.4.2.1).
I entered dbpass as the default password.

Now when i start PT3, it can't connect to any of the databases.
I'm using the latest Beta 30.4 version of PT3.

What next?

Thanks.

If you just installed PostgreSQL 8.4 then you will need to create a new database. There won't be any database to connect to.

Why are the old databases on the list of databases unable to connect to then?

And why cannot i import all the files to the new database?

I tried making a new database and importing all the processed files to the new one but almost half of the files get import errors.

They were in the old postgres that you uninstalled.

I've already replied to your Boss issue in your ticket.

We don't know exactly yet, but it will be as soon as we can get the required fixes done and tested internally.
