New icon after downloading PostGre SQL?

Postby foolsgolden » Sun May 04, 2008 6:01 pm

Greetings,

Please excuse me for any ignorant questions as I'm new to Pokertracker and am trying to absorb a lot of new information. Anyways, here is my situation. I noticed a new icon on my tool bar, which surprised me given that my computer is two weeks old. The only thing I have downloaded besides PStars is PT3 and PostGreSQL I should add that I called technical support for Microsoft and my computer manufacturer. They told me it's harmless and I could delete it. I told them I couldn't because it was being used. They told me to close all applications and reboot and everything would be OK. They also said having this icon on my compture was harmless and shouldn't affect anything. I tried to delete the icon (which is green w/ a white check mark)but I got a message that it was currently in use and I would have to close the application that was open.

After double-clicking the icon I get a box the reads 'Safely Remove Hardware' on top. The message reads "select the device you wish to unplug or eject and then click stop. When windows notifies you that it is safe to do so unplug the device from your computer." Here is the name of the device: WDC WD32 OOAAJS-OOVWA SCSI Disk Device. When clicking the box and trying to delete this device I get the message "Windows can't stop this device because it's in use."

Should I just ignore this? Is this related to my download of PostGreSQl/PT3? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Jeffrey Johnson

That's probably your hard drive. I don't think you want to stop it. :)

I'm not sure though. I'm a software guy, not a hardware guy. I'll let a hardware guy elaborate if necessary.

Thanks,

Yeah, I don't think that would be such a great idea (deleting my hard drive). These customer service folks at MSFT and Emachines seem to think the answer is always 'yes.' The other alternative, of course, is 'what's your credit card number.'

At least everything is going relatively well with Pokertracker3. I just have to learn to learn some patience and realize extracting value out the product doesn't happen spontaneously, but is a process. The board is an excellent resource.

Thanks,
