I havent even purchased PT3 yet, still I was able to download it, and now it is importing my hand history (!).

I want it to import all the hands I play, from now on and foreward. As I interpret the instruction manual, I should then press start import when I start to play, and press Stop Import when I am done. PT3 should then give me all the stats I need. Isnt that how it works?

Anyway, when I press start import, it has for some reason started importing ALL the hands i have EVER played on ANY site. This is very strange, and totally unnecassary for me. I dont care about hands i have played earlier. If I stop it, it stops, but if I start it again, it starts all over again. So if I was to start a session now, and press start import, it would proceed to import all the hands I have ever played earlier! Whats going on?

Best thing to do really is use manual import to read your old/existing hand histories then move the files and store them somewhere, but if you don't want it to import hands you previously played (although why wouldn't you?) you will have to move the existing hand history files to another folder somewhere.
Once you've done this the auto-import will only import new hands. You should also check "move processed files to" so that it doesn't have to keep checking the old files.

Look at the auto-import tab and select your site, then click on the "<site> Configuration" tab on the right hand side.
Here it will show you which folder the files are being read from.
Open that folder in Explorer or whatever, and create another folder somewhere (e.g. c:\Old Poker Hands, or use the folder specified in "Move Processed Files To..."). Move everything from the hand history folder to your new folder. Once the old HH files have been moved PT3 won't know where they are and won't attempt to import them anymore.

I deleted my previous hand history from my computer. When I pressed auto import, i got the messaage:

"Unable to launch auto-import for site: PartyGaming. Reason: Party auto-importer needs configured."

Is this because PT has no files to collect any more?

Is that how PT works? It doesnt collect files directly from the site, but imports them to PT as soon as the come in "live" from the site when i am having a session? If I now start playing at a site, and press auto import, will then PT import them as soon as they come to my computer? Is that why they imported all those hand that I have played earlier, because they were stored on my computer?

Furthermore, I have not purchased PT yet, but it is working. Am I on some sort of a free trial or something? Where do I purchase it?

Finally, Is there any way to delete stored information? I have about 20K hands from earlier that i would like to delete. Is it possible?

When you deleted your hand histories, did you also delete the directories they were in?

In the Database -> Database Management, there's a Purge button that will remove all the information from your database.

I dont know what you mean by "directories", but I deleted the folder of hand hisories with content, and created a new one. Anyways, its not that important.

Does PT collect the hand histories from my computer as soon as they come in from the site, or does it get it directly from the site? I was wondering this in order to know if when I start playing again, PT will get the hand histories as soon as the come in. This way it will stop retrieving "old" hand histories, and it will be limited to the hand histories that come in from this time foreward, which was what i wanted.

A directory is a folder. If you deleted the directory and didn't name the new one exactly what the other was named, it won't work.

PT3 will import hands from any history files you have. If you don't want old hands imported, delete the old hand history files.
