Hello,

I need to import just about 1.000.000 hands, but speed is very slowly.
Average speed: 1.8h/s
The highest speed was: 100h/s

I need a half day to import all hands in the database and thats not ok.
Is it possible to increase the speed?

1.8 hands per second is extremely low - what version of PT3 are you using and what are the specs on your system like?

I use PT3 Beta Version.

system:
Windows 7 Home Premium

processor: Intel Code i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40 GHz

Ram: 12GB

Systemtype: 64 Bit

What version of PostgreSQL are you using and what anti-virus software do you have?

Postresql: 8.3
Anti Virus: Nortin INternet Security

Average speed at the momemt: 5.4h/sec

Add an exception for the entire PostgreSQL directory in Norton from C:\Program Files\ on down. I believe Norton's default behavior is to read every file when it is opened and this will slow down PostgreSQL drastically.

With your computer you would also benefit significantly from upgrading to PostgreSQL 9.0 64bit, which you can find here. Please note though you'd need to backup your existing databases and restore them after installing 9.0 (or reimport all hands) as the database structures are not compatible from 8.3 to 9.0. However, you can have 8.3 and 9.0 installed at the same time so you can test to see the differences if you would like.

Also you would benefit quite a lot from following this tutorial.

I think all of these would be things that would be worth your time to pursue.

Just tried it with the pokerstrategy elephant..and what can i say...just wow!
1000 (!!!!!) hands per second !!

So i guess the problem is somewhere in pt3.

Anyway, i'll use the elephant in future.

Did you try Kraada's advice? You should definitely get faster imports than that in PT3.
