I know everyone was expecting a Hud in this beta, but it's not in here. We have a Hud that's in alpha testing, but I'm going to hold off on releasing it in a beta. Why? Because first impressions are everything. Our Hud is going to be extremely powerful and flexible, but what we have right now is basically the foundation. If I released what we have now, for the next two weeks I would hear nothing but "Why doesn't the Hud do this?" or "Why doesn't the Hud do that?" and "You should make the Hud do this". My point is, the Hud is something a lot of people are going to find useful and are anticipating, and I feel that if I release what we have at this point in time, it will leave a sour taste in some people's mouths. So this release is basically a bug fix release and an extension of the expiration date. Please be patient. It will be worth it.

You don't [bszx]need[/bszx] to re-import your hands for this beta, but it's recommended. Some stat accuracy bugs were fixed.

How do you reimport hands? Recopy the moved hand histories back to my poker site's HandHistory folder?

Do you need to purge the PostgreSQL database before reimporting? How do you do that?

Should I uninstall beta 6 before installing beta 7?

If I uninstall beta 6, will all copied hand histories be deleted?

Does it say v3.00 beta 7 in the PokerTracker 3 title bar? I am thinking it did not upgrade for you.

Best regards,

Well, here's what I did:

Assumes you have Preference checked to "Move Processed Files To:" on AutoImport tab:

0) Make a backup copy of Processed folder
1) In PT3b6, purge database from Database->Database Management
2) Exit PT3b6
3) Uninstall PT3b6, don't delete configuration info at prompt
4) Install PT3b7 (non-psql version of course)
5) Move contents of original PT3 Processed folder back to FTP HandHistory\<username> folder.
6) Start PT3b7 and AutoImport
7) Delete backup copy of Processed folder which may have been unnecessary.

I only use FTP. If your Processed folder mixes HH from different sites, I guess you will have to sort them out.

It's faster to create a new database and delete the old database rather than purging all the hands and reimporting.

I get this issue when I try to start/import hands from PT 3.

Unable to create PostgreSQL database: PT3 Beta DB1
Reason: Unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

It also asks me if I want to install PostSQL every time I click the PT3 icon even though I have already done it.

Suggestions?

Ok I want to try this.. but I have a few questions first. Do I make my back up copy of processed folder with windows backup? How do I move the contents of processed files back into the original folder? Restoring backup? Just need a few details here.

Thanks

hmmm ... didn't see Josh's post before I posted mine. I try creating a new database first.
